As someone new to frp and very interested in learning. One of the biggest draw backs is that the book is written in java. Which i am not familiar with. So im suggesting that you please add examples on github. It will really help. Thanks
What kinds of programs do you want to write? I have a commercial C++ project that uses a lot of Sodium. I might be able to extract some examples from it or I could write something.
Am a student currently attempting to write a gui based on opengl. After getting your book i decided to try frp. But i has been slow going because of the language barrier. It is not that am completely useless in java. I can follow the syntax. It is just not always obvious how one would apply the same concept in c++
FRP has quite a limited interface, so the translation between Java and C++ is very direct. If you like, you could just write something you're not sure about here, and I could translate it to C++ for you.
We'll surely do that. I just got the java ftack project. I'll get started from there.
Hi,
I've translated some of the examples from the book to C++ here: https://github.com/e4z9/sodium-cxx-examples .They use Qt for the GUI parts. I haven't come around to tackle any of the bigger examples (yet?).If I do something stupid there, feel free to comment, and/or to contribute of course
Hi eazy,
Thank you for doing this! I would be really grateful if you could check those examples in to the sodium-cxx project. I have given you write access. -- Steve
