That sounds like a lot of fun... I use Go for services/backend stuff... the magic 8-ball tells me Rust is somewhere in my future
Would be really great to be proficient at it, seems like it's very multi-purpose!
I feel like I'm just staring to sortof get the hang of the functional javascript stuff though (using lots of Sanctuary for example) - if I switch to another new technology now I'd be too far behind the curve for work needs. One of these days...
Though if Sodium existed as a WebAssembly import it could be a good excuse - e.g. to start with that, and then move the core logic over to Rust, import Sodium over there, and continue down that happy path...
